Training on the Prevention, Diagnosis, and Remediation of Learning Difficulties in the Algerian School Environment
As part of its scheduled activities for 2026, the National Institute for Research in Education organized, on March 30–31, 2026, a training for its researchers on the prevention, diagnosis, and remediation of learning difficulties in the Algerian school environment. The training was facilitated by Professor Meriem Benbouzid and Dr. Saliha Siline.
The program was distinguished by its scientific and methodological richness, combining theoretical foundations with practical applications.
- Day One: dedicated to clarifying the fundamental concepts related to learning difficulties, whether developmental or academic, with particular emphasis on precise diagnostic methods for reading and writing difficulties, following contemporary approaches based on validated scientific tools.
- Day Two: focused on remediation strategies and effective pedagogical interventions, especially in the area of mathematics learning difficulties, highlighting the importance of early and proactive intervention to improve learners’ academic trajectories and strengthen their capacity for academic and social adaptation, both in the classroom and in their family environment.
This initiative is part of the Institute’s efforts to strengthen the capacities of its researchers and enhance their scientific and practical skills in diagnosing and addressing learning difficulties. It facilitates a transition from observation and description to evidence-based remedial intervention, contributing to the improvement of educational quality and reinforcing the principle of equal opportunity in the Algerian school system.
In conclusion, certificates of participation were awarded to the researchers in recognition of their commitment and active contribution to the success of this scientific initiative.
