Presentation of the Detailed Report on the First Project Submission Session of the
Innovation Incubator
As part of the implementation of digital transformation mechanisms and support for an
innovative environment within the educational sector, the National Institute for Research in
Education hosted, at its headquarters on Sunday, 26 April 2026, a working session devoted to
the presentation of the detailed report on the first project submission session of the Innovation
Incubator.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Chawki Djeddi, Director of the National Institute for
Research in Education, in the presence of the heads of research divisions, as well as the heads
of administrative and technical departments and services.
Dr Abdelhak Gasmi, Head of the Innovation Incubator, presented the quantitative and
qualitative indicators that characterised this phase, highlighting the strategic outcomes of the
first project submission session.
The project submission phase generated considerable interest, with 131 projects received,
covering 38 wilayas. Personnel from the education sector, teacher-researchers and permanent
researchers accounted for 72% of the submissions.
The technological orientations of the projects were divided between educational technology
(53%) and artificial intelligence (40%). Although 56% of the proposals were exclusively
digital in nature, 27.5% remained at the ideation stage, which required intensive technical and
methodological support in order to transform them into operational prototypes.
In line with the Institute’s strategy of linking scientific research with entrepreneurial practice,
the Head of the Innovation Incubator indicated that a direct evaluation pathway had been
reserved for the Institute’s researchers and had covered seven projects.
This pathway aims to enable researchers to proceed directly to the technical evaluation phase
and to formulate preliminary recommendations capable of strengthening their innovative
capacities and orienting their scientific outputs towards an entrepreneurial pathway.
At the close of the meeting, it was emphasised that the evaluation committee is currently
preparing to launch the technical and pedagogical selection phases, in preparation for the
transition to the effective incubation phase of the selected projects.
Through its incubator, the National Institute for Research in Education reaffirms its
commitment to building an integrated national ecosystem to support educational innovation in
Algeria, and to transforming academic ideas into practical and innovative solutions that
contribute to the development of the Algerian school system and the enhancement of its
performance.
